In this teaching, we will hear about the meaning of Israel's Spring and Fall feasts (festivals).  This might be brand new territory for many of us who don't know much about the history of Israel, but I think you will find it fascinating as I certainly have in my studies.  God ordained that Israel was to celebrate 7 festivals every year.  Each festival celebrated a very natural agricultural blessing for the nation, plus they commemorated one of the ways God had intervened in the life of of the nation, and finally each Festival is a prophetic picture of the work of Messiah (Jesus).

You are listening to week 1 of a 3 week series that will lead up to Easter Sunday called THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL. It's taken from the first 8 chapters of Romans and each week will focus on key verses about the Power of the Gospel.

Romans 1:16-17, 3:21-16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

When we proclaim the message and do the works of God's Kingdom, we are attacking the kingdom of darkness, and should not be surprised at counterattack. We'll look to Nehemiah's story for principles of spiritual warfare.
